Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, we will pick you up and drive about one hour to Moshi/Arusha for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour
After breakfast with spiced tea, fresh coffee, fruit, and pancakes, we drive to Materuni village at the foot of Kilimanjaro. Together with a local guide, we hike through avocado, banana, and coffee forests to a stunning 125m waterfall where we enjoy a picnic lunch and the chance to swim. On the way back, we join a traditional coffee-making tour before heading to Moshi town to explore the market and town life. Dinner and overnight at the same hotel.
Day 3: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, we drive through Arusha, where you can buy snacks, wine, or souvenirs before continuing to Lake Manyara National Park. After lunch, we enjoy a game drive in one of Tanzania’s smallest but most diverse parks. Famous for tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, giraffes, elephants, and year-round greenery, it’s a wonderful start to our safari. Dinner and overnight in Mto wa Mbu at a B&B.
Day 4: Lake Natron Adventure
After breakfast, we drive to Lake Natron, arriving at camp for lunch. In the afternoon, we hike about 45 minutes to beautiful waterfalls, where you can swim. Later, we head to the lake, home to thousands of flamingos, zebras, and wildebeests, and enjoy the magical sunset. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 5: Serengeti via Klein’s Gate
After breakfast, we continue towards Serengeti, entering through Klein’s Gate – a quieter, scenic part of the park. We enjoy a game drive along the way, with packed lunch, before arriving at our camp in the Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Serengeti Full-Day Safari
We rise early to catch the sunrise and witness nocturnal animals making their final hunts. Around 10 AM, we return for a generous brunch and rest before continuing with an afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight in the same Serengeti camp.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
After breakfast, we pack up and enjoy a game drive as we travel towards Ngorongoro. Passing through the highlands and Maasai villages, we stop for a packed lunch on the way and reach our camp/hotel at Ngorongoro late afternoon. Dinner with incredible crater views and overnight stay.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater & Lake Eyasi
We start early with a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, where we have the chance to spot rhinos and complete our Big Five sightings. Lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site before continuing to Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe (hunter-gatherers) and Datoga (blacksmiths). Dinner and overnight at Lake Eyasi.
Day 9: Hadzabe & Datoga Cultural Experience
Spend the morning with the Hadzabe, joining them on a traditional hunt and learning about their click language and way of life. Later, visit the Datoga blacksmiths to see their craft and daily village life. In the afternoon, drive to Karatu or Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we head to Tarangire National Park, famous for large elephant herds, tree-climbing lions, and ancient baobab trees. We spend the day on game drives before returning to Arusha or Moshi in the evening. Dinner and overnight in town.
Day 11: Kikuletwa Hot Springs
Today we drive east to discover the natural hot springs hidden in the middle of the savannah. Here you can swim, relax, and enjoy lunch. We also check out local handicrafts before returning to Moshi for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Zanzibar – Fumba Village & Dhow Safari
After breakfast, we fly to Zanzibar. From Stone Town, we drive to Fumba village and board a traditional dhow boat. We sail into the blue ocean, visiting sandbanks and stopping at a beach for a delicious seafood lunch. Snorkeling is included before returning to Stone Town for dinner and overnight with sunset views.
Day 13: Kizimkazi & Transfer to Nungwi
We travel south to Kizimkazi village for snorkeling and optional dolphin watching. After enjoying the beach, we continue north through forests, fields, and villages to the beautiful beach town of Nungwi. Dinner by the beach and overnight in Nungwi.
Day 14: Nungwi Beach Relaxation
A free day to relax by the turquoise waters of Nungwi. Walk the white-sand beaches, swim, collect shells, or enjoy fresh local food and drinks. Dinner and overnight in Nungwi.
Day 15: Mnemba Island Excursion
We enjoy a half-day trip to Mnemba Island, famous for its coral reefs, colorful fish, and clear waters. Snorkel, relax on the beach, and enjoy lunch before returning to Nungwi for dinner and overnight.
Day 16: Free Day in Nungwi
Another relaxing day at leisure. Swim, explore the village, enjoy a massage, or simply watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Nungwi.
Day 17: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your international flight back home. End of Lucky Family Adventures Safari & Zanzibar experience.
